Glacier Point ready to roll for Racegoers Club

Posted 5 years ago

Members of the Glacier Point Owners Group were given a real treat on Thursday as Clive Cox opened his doors and welcomed the group into his Beechdown Stables home.

Not only did Clive take us up to his own gallops - which must have one of the most enviable views in Lambourn - but our Owners got to see their very own Glacier Point come up the six furlong gallop as she put in her final piece of work before her run in the Second Division of the Betway Maiden Stakes at Bath on Good Friday over five furlongs 161 yards.

Clive said: "She's looking well and ready to go. The race at Bath is a nice opportunity and the track should suit her. I'm looking forward to it and on the strength of the race I'd be very hopeful.

"She's got plenty of speed and I think she's stronger than last year. I know the family well and she should be as good over five furlongs as six so fingers crossed for tomorrow."

After Glacier Point had a wash down and pick of grass with her jockey for tomorrow and usual work rider John Fahy, she went back into her box in the main barn at Clive's yard where she has a prime spot right by the office.

Within in touching distance of her spot is what Clive calls 'Millionaire Row' where 2016 Royal Ascot winners Profitable and My Dream Boat spend their days along with Zonderland. Clive is hopeful that they will chart similar routes to more Group One glory this year - although they might need some rain to fall first.

We're hopeful Glacier Point can get her season off to the best possible start tomorrow and to find out more about how you can be involved in this exciting ownership experience follow this link.
