Racecourse Developments - April 2014
Racegoers attending the Guineas meeting at the Rowley Mile can take the opportunity to savour the atmosphere from The Frankel Lounge (formerly the Paddock Bar) which has prime views across the parade ring. As well as the superb location, racegoers can relive the Frankel story through photos, memorabilia and brand new interactive touchscreen sponsored by Juddmonte Farms, which features video footage of all Frankel’s races and interviews from those closest to the superstar.
Amy Starkey, Jockey Club Regional Director (East) said: “Frankel had a special relationship with Newmarket Racecourses, successfully starting his career on the July Course before winning two Group 1s – including, so memorably, the QIPCO 2000 Guineas – on the Rowley Mile. In the Frankel Lounge, we feel we have delivered an appropriate tribute that will hopefully be enjoyed by thousands of racegoers over the coming seasons”.
Pontefract unveiled a newly built betting hall on their first meeting of the season. The custom built facility is amongst the best of its kind and an enormous improvement to the previous building.
