Racegoers Club members raise £1,575 for Racing Welfare in 2020

  • The money raised helped Racing Welfare to provide vital services at a particularly challenging time.
  • The Club looks forward to continuing to raise funds for and promote the work of Racing Welfare in the future.

The Racegoers Club, the supporters club of British Horseracing, is delighted to announce that £1,575 has been raise for Racing Welfare in 2020. 

As the Club’s official charity partner, all charitable donations and fundraising efforts by the Club and its members are shared with Racing Welfare in recognition of the outstanding work of the charity which has been busier than ever during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The money was raised by members generously forgoing returns from the Club’s two Ownership Groups run in 2020 and from voluntary donations included in their membership renewals. Members also contributed directly to Racing Welfare by joining their virtual events, including their Jumps Season Preview Night in November. 

Looking forward, Racegoers Club will continue to work with Racing Welfare to raise funds and awareness to support their vital services. 

Dawn Goodfellow, Chief Executive of Racing Welfare, said “I would like to say a huge thank you to all the Racegoers Club members who donated an incredible £1,575 to Racing Welfare in 2020. Every penny we received made it possible for us to deliver our vital services when they were needed the most and the whole team at Racing Welfare have been truly humbled by your support.”
