This week includes:

  • Four days of point scoring action
  • Fantastic weeks for trainers Mark Johnston & John Gosden
  • Another incredible performance from superstar Enable

Thursday

The action this week got underway with a Listed Race at Sandown Park on Thursday evening. Walk In Marrakesh got home in front to continue a brilliant season for both trainer Mark Johnston and jockey Frankie Dettori.

Friday

There were two point-scoring races for us to enjoy on Friday, the first of which took place at Ascot Racecourse. This race saw Duneflower stay on well down the centre of the course to claim her first victory in Listed company and deny the well-fancied odds-on shot Magnetic Charm. Up at York Fanny Logan made it an across the card Listed double for John Gosden as she put in an impressive performance under P J McDonald to land the prize. Congratulations to David Marshall who was the only player to pick Fanny Logan and gain 20 points from the win.

Saturday

Saturday’s action started with the Group 3 Princess Margaret Keeneland Stakes at Ascot. This race was won at a big price by Under The Stars for trainer James Tate and jockey P J McDonald. The day also saw a Listed contest at Ascot where the Godolphin owned Al Dabaran stayed on well to lead in the final few strides. Up at York Racecourse the great season continued for trainer Mark Johnston as Elarqam produced a terrific display to earn Group 2 honours, scoring 30 points for three different Ten to Follow teams.

The feature race of the week was the Group 1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot. The race didn’t disappoint as Crystal Ocean and Enable delivered a battle on the home straight that will go down in history. Crystal Ocean put in the performance of a lifetime, but Enable proved her class yet again and became the first horse to regain the King George title. This was a popular result for players as it scored 55 points for 109 Ten to Follow teams.

Sunday

The final point scoring action was up at Pontefract Racecourse on the last day of the Go Racing In Yorkshire Summer Festival. This Listed Race was won by Marie’s Diamond who showed a good attitude to take the feature race of the day for trainer Mark Johnston and jockey Silvestre De Sousa. However, this horse wasn’t pick by any players, and so no points were scored.

It is still tight at the top of the leader board with Paul Timms, Alan Wellsteed and Graham Hoskin all tied for the lead on 435 points apiece. However, with 13 point scoring opportunities taking place throughout the Qatar Goodwood Festival it is likely to look a little different by this time next week!
