William Henry

This week had some high class Handicap racing as we headed to Kempton for the 32Red Lanzarote Hurdle and Warwick for the Betfred Classic Chase.

The first Listed action was at Kempton where Waiting Patiently made the trip from Malton worthwhile with a commanding victory in the 32Red Casino Chase. He is now unbeaten in five starts over fences including the defeat of Politologue as a Novice and could be a big player in the Spring Festivals as long as the ground is Soft.

Next on the card we saw teenage riding sensation James Bowen scoop the Lanzarote Hurdle on William Henry for Nicky Henderson. Always in touch on the rail he took the lead at the last where a good jump helped him to go on to win by three quarters of a length.

Up at Warwick, Ms Parfois made it back to back Listed wins with victory in the Hampton Novices' Chase. An hour later, Nicky Henderson’s Mr. Whipped stole the show in the Ballymore Leamington Novices’ Hurdle as he defied a market drift to win comfortably. The big story of the day, though, was Bryony Frost winning the Classic Handicap Chase on Milansbar for Neil King with another typically assured ride.

Be sure to check back next Wednesday for the scores.
