Ten To Follow Update 17.04.2019

Posted 2 years ago

A short Ten To Follow update this week as there were only four point scoring races, all of which took place at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday.

The action started with the Listed Scotty Brand Handicap Chase where team Skelton bagged themselves another winner with Azzuri who jumped well and made all to win comfortably by nine lengths.

The Scottish Champion Hurdle came next and favourite Verdana Blue put in an impressive performance to come home in front by seven lengths for trainer Nicky Henderson and jockey Connor Brace. This result scored 30 points for 25 Ten to Follow teams.

Paul Nicholls was the next trainer to score, winning the Grade 2 Champion Novices' Chase with Secret Investor. Secret Investor put in a good jump at the last and stayed on strongly to win. Well done to Ten to Follow player Derek Latham who was the only person to score 30 points from Secret Investor's win.

The final point scoring race of the week was the Coral Scottish Grand National Handicap Chase. The popular Vintage Clouds started the race as favourite, but it was Takingrisks who manged to take the title despite not having the smoothest of runs around the racecourse. The Nicky Richards trained horse wasn't fluent at the last, but managed to drive clear of the field on the run in to take the race by four lengths.

With only two of the four races scoring any points for players there has been little change in the leader board this week with Johnathan Nuttall and Paul Timms still tied at the top on 545 points each. The full standings can be seen here
