Glacier Point retired to be broodmare

Posted 5 years ago

Glacier Point will now head back to Whitsbury Manor Stud to begin a new career as a broodmare following the end of her racing career.

She has finished her racing career with a record of 11 runs, one win, two seconds and two thirds with a highest official BHA rating of 75. You can find her full career records here.

Both we and Clive Cox really felt we could get another win into her towards the end of this season given the form of some of her previous races but sadly it wasn't to be and her two relatively tame runs at Brighton and Nottingham perhaps told us that Glacier Point no longer had her heart fully in racing or was at least showing the signs of a long season.

She was an ideal horse for The Racegoers Club in many ways this year and it was great to get a win with her at Chepstow as well as the two seconds at Lingfield and Nottingham which provided everybody in the group with some excitement.

We will be confirming Flat Owners Group plans for 2018 in good time ahead of the start of the season and and if you would like to be part of the Racegoers Club ownership groups please look out for the latest news or contact Will Aitkenhead - [email protected].

Next year marks 50 years since the start of the Racegoers Club and hopefully we can find a nice horse or two to help us celebrate.
